Join us as a volunteer for the Arts Atlantic Symposium! This is an incredible opportunity to engage with the vibrant arts community in Atlantic Canada, meet like-minded individuals, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic event setting.

We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with various roles, including:

  • Role Description:
    Help maintain a welcoming atmosphere within the event venues and efficiently handle ticket and pass processing at each venue entrance. Promote a safe and respectful environment for all attendees, guide attendees, and provide directions throughout the venue. Assist attendees with mobility needs to ensure they have an inclusive and enjoyable experience.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Check in attendees and distribute event materials.

    • Provide information about event programming and schedules.

    • Answer questions and assist with any inquiries.

    • Monitor venue spaces and assist with setup and cleanup if needed. 

    • Ensure safety and comfort for all participants.

    • Assist attendees in navigating the event space.

    • Provide information about event locations and schedules.

    • Address any incidents of disrespectful behavior.

    • Experience or training in anti-oppressive practices is a plus.

    Qualifications:

    • Friendly and approachable attitude.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Detail-oriented and organized.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    • Good organizational skills.

    • Capable of standing for extended periods.

  • Role Description:
    Support in setting up and dismantling installations or performances.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Assist with equipment and materials during setup and breakdown.

    • Help maintain a clean and organized workspace.

    • Collaborate with event staff to ensure timely execution.

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.

    • Experience with art installations or technical support is a plus.

    • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Role Description:
    Lead and coordinate volunteer efforts to ensure a smooth and successful event experience.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Oversee and support volunteers during the event.

    • Facilitate communication between volunteers and event staff.

    • Ensure volunteers understand their roles and responsibilities.

    • Assist with scheduling and logistics.

    • Address any issues or concerns that arise during the event.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

    • Excellent communication abilities.

    • Experience in event coordination or volunteer management is a plus.

    • Ability to motivate and inspire a team.

    • Problem-solving skills and a calm demeanor under pressure.

    • Capable of standing for extended periods.

  • If you work one shift: You will receive access to one workshop or conference session of your choice (subject to availability).

  • If you work two shifts: You will receive access to two workshops or conference sessions of your choice (subject to availability).

  • If you work more than two shifts: You will receive unlimited access to any symposium events (subject to availability).

  • Snacks and refreshments provided for all shifts.
